World’s Most Dangerous Locations

Ever wondered how it would be to live next to an active volcano? Sounds quite scary, isn’t it? Mother Nature has given us such a beautiful world to live, but there are some places which make life incredibly difficult for human beings. Living in places like cold regions, volcano eruption valleys, lakesides, mountains, islands, dense forests, etc. is not easy. Following are some of the most dangerous locations where life is always on the edge.
1. Antarctica
It is earths the coldest place with its lowest recorded temperature -89.2 °C (−128.6 °F). Antarctica is an ice-covered desert with little rainfall and very strong winds blowing in every possible direction. Interestingly the main health issue here is Sunburn as almost all the ultraviolet  light is reflected by the snow surface. Frequented by researchers and adventure enthusiasts, there are no permanent human  residents in this region.
2. Mount Merapi, Indonesia
Also known as Fire Mountain, continuously emits smoke from its mouth, 10,000 feet in the sky. It has erupted for about 60 times in the last five centuries with most recent in 2006. Considered to be one of the most dangerous places even to visit, there are about 200,000 villagers dwelling within the area of 4 miles from this volcano.
3. Lake Kivu
It is located along the border between Congo and Rwanda. There is 2.3trillion cubic ft of methane gas, with 60 cubic miles carbon dioxide captivated beneath the lake between the pressure of the earth and water. If released in the atmosphere, these gases can completely wipe out the area and poses major danger to more than 2 million Africans who live in the basins of Lake Kivu.
4. Maldives
It is a union of 1190 islands in the Indian Ocean. Its highest point above sea level is approximately 6 feet, and is likely to be taken over by rising sea level. According to the 2005 assessment of US Geological Survey, Maldives was declared as one of the youngest land masses on Earth which does not have long to live above water.
5. Haiti
Hit by tropical storm Fay then Hurricane Gustav followed by HurricanesHanna and Ike in just a span of one month, Gonaives, Haiti’s one of the five largest cities, received four destructive tropical cyclones.
